About The Children’s Library...

The Children’s Library is a welcoming space where every student can borrow books in English to take home and share with their children. The library offers a wide variety of stories that spark imagination and curiosity, helping parents create joyful reading moments with their kids.
It’s a simple and accessible way for mothers to bring the love of books into their homes and encourage their children’s learning.

Reading together not only strengthens language skills but also builds meaningful family connections. As students practice their English through storytelling, their children benefit from quality time and attention that nurtures their growth.
The Children’s Library is more than just shelves of books - it’s a bridge between learning and love, helping both women and their children grow together through reading.
Bridging Learning and Family Life

The Children’s Library was created from a simple but meaningful idea - to make storybooks accessible to every family, without adding to their financial burdens.
Children’s books can be expensive, and little ones often grow out of them quickly, leaving parents with the difficult choice of whether to buy new ones or go without. For many of our students, who already face the challenges of adapting to life in the United States while overcoming language barriers, this kind of spending can feel impossible.
Many of them are still searching for stable jobs, trying to learn English, and working hard just to cover basic needs for their families. The Children’s Library was born out of our desire to support women on every step of their journey - from motherhood to education to self-confidence.
The idea for the Children’s Library grew naturally out of the mission of CSJ Learning Connection. Our organization understands the unique challenges women face when they come to a new country - balancing family, education, and the pressures of starting over. Many of them arrive eager to learn, but also carry the weight of responsibility for their children and households. CSJ Learning Connection strives to meet women where they are, offering not only English instruction but also the resources, encouragement, and community they need to succeed.
